Mixed media project

Finally got around to finishing a project I started a while ago. Had a couple of restarts on it as it was going to be a white background with a selection of colours but didn't like how it turned out so painted it black and started again. The beauty of mixed media!
Trying my hand at scrapbooking

I love making mini albums, cards and mixed media but I thought I'd have a go at scrapbooking. I have been searching Pinterest and other websites looking for a style that I liked. I have long been a fan of Di Garling's work, a designer for 49 and Market, and thought her layouts would suit the photos I had chosen to work with. I used Prima papers then using modeling paste stenciled on to the paper then did a bit of stamping, added 49 and Market flowers, cut out a couple of frame dies, added some flourishes cut out of Rose Gold...

Oxides and Nuvo Glimmer Paste

I needed to make some cards for my sister as part of her birthday present. So I made a background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and once dry applied some Nuvo Glimmer Paste through a stencil onto the background and below is the result: For the card on the left I used the Tim Holtz Mosaic stencil. If you like a lot of sparkle it has lovely coverage but I also wanted one of the backgrounds to be subtle so I used Prima's Cobblestone which I am growing to love more and more each time I use it (middle card). The crafting girls got together as we wanted to make a similar project to the one Karen made a while ago, so here are a few photos of our completed work:Teri's creation Sue's creation Karen's creationMy creationI really love working with Finnabair's waxes. It is easy to get a lot of coverage on quite a large project and didn't really use a lot of wax. I covered this box for my niece-in-law to hold a mini album I made for her. Products used:
