Before Christmas my friend Wendy (from Wendy's World) and I spent some time 'playing with products' and we made 6 cards from one sheet of 12 x 12 paper. We used a piece from the beautiful 'Rossibelle' range by Prima, called Vintage Memories, added a few embellishments, card stock and we're pretty happy with the results. Vintage Memories has a copper foil on it that hightlights the heart, birdcage, edging on the flowers and some writing which makes it more stunning!
You may be inspired to make some cards ready for the year ahead!
Card 1: We started by cutting the 12x12 sheet into 6 pieces to suit the size of card stock we were using (A5), then with a blending tool and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink we edged around the patterned paper and card stock. The cabochons were clear so Ranger Enamel Accents was used to colour underneath and left to dry (which didn't take very long). We could have used the Enamel Accents directly onto the page, which would have looked lovely too!
Some string was used to highlight the heart, this was attached by using a small amount of the Super Tape (red). Then the cabochons were attached by using a spot glue. The 'Love' lettering was from the Alphabet Sticker Sheet in the 6x6 Rossibelle Collection Kit Pad. A bow made out of seam binding was attached to finish it off.
Card 2: Edged card stock and patterned paper again with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, then folded down the left, top corner so 3 flowers and some leaves could be tucked under. Seam binding to make the bow was used to tie the stems of the flowers together before being glued down. A coloured cabochon was added to the corner too.
'Happy Birthday' was stamped on some card from the 6x6 Rossibelle Collection Kit Pad then inked around with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Before the patterned paper was attached to the card stock we cut around the leaf of the flower so the 'Happy Birthday' could be tucked under.
Card 3: This piece was inked around with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and some seam binding put on before attaching to the card stock. The roses were then glued onto the bow with some leaves and the 'Hello' tab was cut from the 6x6 Rossibelle Collection Kit Pad.
Card 4: Edges inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (I'm starting to think Wendy really likes this colour!). A split was made in the patterned paper and rolled back to expose cardstock beneath. Part of a doily was glued onto the card stock along with some red and white roses plus leaves. Then the rest of the doily was attached on the fold of the card stock with some double sided tape. The 'I Love You' was stamped onto a piece of card cut from the 6x6 Rossibelle Collection Kit Pad and some string attached to highlight words and a few clear cabochons attached and another card done!
Card 5: This piece is gorgeous with the birdcage highlighted with a copper coloured foil. Again inked in Walnut Stain Distress Ink, some roses glued on the top of the cage, a few cabochons attached. The word 'friend' is cut using the 'Friend' die by Tim Holtz. The paper used for this was out of the Collection Kit Pad. A bow was made from Seam Binding - Rose Petal and some string used again to add a bit extra to the card. Simple but effective!
Card 6: This is a smaller card because Wendy decided that she wanted the flowers to be cut out from the last piece of patterned paper. So she glued in onto card stock then cut around the edge, added some seam binding and then add a greeting and a clear cabochon. Done! Another simple card.
