Christmas Cards

Hi crafters I decided to make a start on my Christmas cards as I usually make around 30, and make 2 or 3 different designs. This year I was itching to use the Heartfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettia and along with the Brusho Crystals.   I laid a Prima Doily stencil on my piece of cardstock, sprinkled on some Ostwald Red Brusho crystals, then spritzed with water. Lifted off the stencil and left to dry. To make the flowers I stamped the poinsettia flowers using Versamark ink pad onto white cardstock then embossed using white embossing powder.  Then cut out the flower...

Mixed Media Box - Karen's Creation

This lovely creation by Karen was made by firstly covering the box with black gesso, leaving to dry.  Then using modelling paste stenciled Tim Holtz Roses on the bottom, sides and lid.  Once dry Karen glued on the moulds she had made using the Prima Vintage Moulds and Paper Clay which had also been painted with black gesso, and a metal rose for the centre of the lid.  These were glued on with Finnabair's 3D Heavy Gel. Wendy's Project using Finnabair's Art Alchemy Paints

Wendy wanted a cover for the notebook she was making and decided to use Finnabair's acrylic paints. First she applied some paint to her cover, sprayed on water to help get the paints to move, then tilting the card to ensure good coverage on the surface, left it to dry (or can be dried with a heat gun) and added some embellishments to finish off. It is a quick and easy technique that looks fabulous.  It's hard to tell from the photos but the colours Wendy has used are stunning. The Dark Velvet, Light Patina and Silver Spoon work well together.             ...

Flowering Dogwood cards

Last week I decided to make a few cards using the Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood die and stamp sets. The sets had been sitting on my desk waiting, waiting, waiting.... to be used! So I set to and stamped some flowers on vellum, using Versamark Ink, embossed with white embossing powder then cut flowers out, using a gold marker edged the flowers and stamen then put them aside. I then stamped using Distress Oxide Ink, Faded Jeans, some more flowers but on white cardstock this time and cut them out, sponged flowers lightly with Worn Lipstick and edged flowers with Faded Jeans...

Fun with Brusho Crystals

Fun with Brusho Crystals

Wendy started by covering the frame with White Gesso, then building it up with modelling paste and stencils, layering on lace, muslin, torn book pages, doilies, Art Stones, flowers etc which she attached with Prima's Heavy Body Gel.         Once this had dried she then sprinkled Brusho Crystals around the frame where she wanted colour, then sprayed with water to activate. Wendy also added more colour by mixing some Brushos up in a plate (plastic) and adding with a paint brush.    Then when dry Wendy highlighted some of the embellishments with Finnabair's Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Ancient Coin.  You could also use...
